Meet Our Pets!
Meet Flora, Rosie and Daisy, our three much-loved guinea pigs! They are a special part of our nursery family and bring lots of joy to the children (and the staff!). Caring for them gives the children wonderful opportunities to learn about animals and their needs. With gentle guidance, the children help with their daily care, learn how to handle them safely and understand the importance of being gentle, kind and respectful towards living creatures. Through these experiences, we nurture empathy, responsibility and a love for animals

Chief Carrot Eater
Flora
Our lovely Flora is very helpful in helping us cut down on food waste. Leftover carrot peelings, apple core, banana skins?! - Flora is your girl - she can make them disappear in a flash! When she isn't busy eating, our Flora is often sleeping in her cosy bed; she loves to be comfortable!

Loudest Squeaker
Rosie
Our beautiful Rosie is super soft and loves a cuddle. Rosie is best known for being our security piggy - no bag will go unopened without Rosie alerting us with her squeaks! Rosie has beautiful long hair which the children love to brush. Rosie finds this very relaxing and often falls asleep!

Cuddliest Cucumber
Daisy
Our gorgeous Daisy is our eldest piggy and has been with us since 2020. She is the first piggy to greet the children in the mornings. Daisy is always so excited for the children's arrivals (and the food they bring!) and runs to the front of the cage to see everyone.
Darcy Dog
Certified Pets As Therapy Dog
Meet Darcy, our lovely little Nursery Dog! Darcy is a hypoallergenic Cavapoo who is registered with Pets As Therapy (PAT). She has attended intensive training from a young age and has won many awards over the years.
Darcy enjoys showing the children her wonderful range of fun tricks and the children enjoy teaching her new ones too!
Darcy plays a very special role in our nursery. Her gentle, loving nature brings comfort and happiness to the children, helping them feel calm, secure and supported as they learn to recognise and regulate their emotions.
Darcy is also wonderful for children who have little or no experience of being around dogs. Her calm and affectionate nature helps children feel safe and build confidence at their own pace. She has already helped several children overcome their fear of dogs by showing them just how loving, gentle and special dogs can be.
Darcy's love extends beyond the nursery, too, as she also visits care homes to bring smiles, comfort and companionship to others.
She is adored by all the children (and our staff!) and is a very special part of our nursery family.
