Outings
Or as the children like to say "Going OUT OUT!"
Here at Stepping Stones, we believe that learning shouldn’t be restricted to the classroom. Some of the most valuable learning experiences happen when children step outside into nature, explore their surroundings and discover the wonderful world around them.
We have invested in our own nursery car, allowing us to take the children on exciting adventures and enriching outings to a variety of places, including RHS Hyde Hall, Call of the Wild Zoo, local woods and garden centres.
We also make the most of our fantastic location by enjoying walking outings to places such as the library, beaches, nature parks and the Sea Life Centre.
Our outings provide children with opportunities to explore, investigate and learn through real-life experiences. Whether they are discovering different plants and wildlife, observing the changes in seasons, collecting natural treasures, building sandcastles or enjoying a story at the library, every adventure offers something new to spark their curiosity and imagination.
We also offer Beach School and Forest School sessions, where children can develop all 7 areas of learning in natural environments. These experiences encourage children to take develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Our outings provide amazing opportunities to learn the curriculum; for example, instead of children sitting down at a table learning how to write, we are out in the woods writing with sticks! By following the children’s interests and making learning fun, meaningful and engaging, we nurture their natural curiosity, encourage them to explore new ideas and help them develop a genuine love of learning that will stay with them as they grow.
We are passionate about giving children the freedom and opportunity to explore, experience and understand the world beyond our nursery doors. Every outing is an opportunity to learn, grow and discover something wonderful. We believe that the world is our classroom, and there is so much to learn when we step outside and explore it together!
